Deep Jungle Expedition — Gunung Leuser 3 Days 2 Nights

A three-day, two-night expedition into the deep zone of Gunung Leuser National Park, departing from Bukit Lawang, North Sumatra. The trek follows trails that few visitors ever reach, with a higher chance of wildlife encounters: Sumatran orangutans, gibbons, macaques, Thomas's langurs and hornbills, among ancient trees and rainforest that has stood unchanged for thousands of years. Two nights are spent at riverside camps set up by the team. The jungle cook prepares dinner over an open fire, and the night belongs to the forest: nocturnal creatures, fireflies and a darkness untouched by city light. The final day closes with rafting down the Bohorok River back to the village. The trip starts and ends in Bukit Lawang, with certified English-speaking local guides throughout. The route is challenging and a good level of fitness is required. Minimum two guests per departure.
