Menoreh Village Cycling: Hills, Rice Fields & Tempe Workshop

The longest of the standard routes: 11 to 17 km through the Menoreh hills west of Yogyakarta, over three hours with a road captain. The operator recommends it for international guests because of the distance and the climbing. The ride takes in the ridge views of Menoreh, the wide green rice fields of Nanggulan, a stop to eat local food cooked and served by residents, mountain panoramas from the village, a workshop making tempe the traditional way with local people, and time spent meeting neighbours and seeing daily village life. Two sessions run daily, one at 07.30 and one at 14.30, each lasting three hours. Bicycle and helmet, road captain, games and challenges, local experience, local snacks and drinks, an eco-string bag, first aid and rain coats, and a contribution to the sustainability action fund are included. Transport to the meeting point, documentation, lunch and guide tips are not included. A photographer can be added for IDR 400.000 and drone video for IDR 600.000. Children aged 7 to 11 ride at the child rate and children aged 2 to 6 at the kids rate. Children under 2 join free and must be carried by the family.
